National Team Agency (BTN) Sumardji said PSSI would narrow down potential coaches

from five candidates to two names.This is the mechanism for PSSI selecting two prospective Indonesian National Team coaches who will enter the final phase.
Sumardji explained that from the candidates that PSSI had met and interviewed in Europe in recent times, a ranking of one to five would be determined.
The two names at the top of the rankings that are considered most suitable for the needs of the Indonesian National Team will be discussed in more depth at the Exco meeting.

“Several prospective coaches have been interviewed by Alexander Zwiers [PSSI Technical Director] and Pak Muhammad and Endri Erawan [PSSI Exco]. Later, after the three of them return to Indonesia, we will hold a PSSI Exco meeting,” said Sumardji.
“So later there will be a ranking from one to five, who is the best. After that we will discuss it together at the PSSI Exco meeting,” added Sumardji.
The Indonesian national team currently does not have a new coach after Patrick Kluivert officially parted ways after failing to bring the Garuda team to the 2026 World Cup. Until now, PSSI has not yet determined who the coach will be in charge of the Indonesian national team.
PSSI General Chair, Erick Thohir, was still tight-lipped when asked by journalists about the Indonesian national team coach.At the same time, wild rumors spread without pause.
Several names such as Frank de Boer, Shin Tae Yong, Timur Kapadze, and Bojan Hodak have emerged.
