With this decision, Herdman will fill the position left by Patrick Kluivert.The Dutch coach parted ways with PSSI after failing to get the Indonesian national team to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
Herdman is a coach who has a lot of flying experience.The 50 year old coach once led Canada to qualify for the 2022 World Cup.
The British coach started his career as a coach by coaching the New Zealand national team’s youth team.
After managing the youth team, John Herdman coached the New Zealand women’s team for 12 years from 2006 to 2018. After that Herdman expanded to the American continent with the Canadian national team.
He coached the Canadian U-23 national team in 2018 for six months before being promoted to the senior team.His career soared with Canada during their five years together.
Under Herdman’s control, Canada qualified for the 2022 World Cup. This is the Maple Leaf Team’s highest achievement since they last appeared in the 1986 World Cup.
