, Ibrahim Arief alias IBAM is said to have received a net salary of up to IDR 163 million.
Ibrahim is now one of four defendants in the alleged corruption case in the procurement of Chromebook laptops and Chrome Device Management (CDM) which is said to have cost the state up to IDR 2.1 trillion.
He and two other defendants, Sri Wahyuningsih as the former Director of Elementary Schools (SD) and Mulyatsyah as the former Director of Junior High Schools (SMP), underwent their first trial for indictment at the Corruption Court, Jakarta, Tuesday (16/12).

Meanwhile, Nadiem was absent on that occasion because he was undergoing medical treatment after surgery.
“The defendant Nadiem Anwar Makarim as Minister of Education and Culture appointed Ibrahim Arief alias IBAM as a technology expert with a salary of IDR 163,000,000.00 nett per month under the PSPK Foundation,” said the prosecutor.
Apart from Ibrahim, Nadiem also specifically appointed two other people as his special staff, namely Jurist Tan and Fiona Handayani.Both of them recently had a number of strategic tasks, including managing the budget.
“Furthermore, the Ministry of Education and Culture is given the power to regulate budget, procurement and human resources (HR) so that it can regulate echelon 1 and echelon 2 officials,” said the prosecutor.
According to the prosecutor, from the start Nadiem had a desire to collaborate with Google in procuring ICT at the Ministry of Education and Culture.This desire has also been discussed with another person closest to him, namely Najeela Shihab.
“The defendant Nadiem Anwar Makarim’s desire to collaborate with Google in procuring ICT at the Ministry of Education and Culture was previously discussed by the defendant with his friends such as Jurist Tan, Fiona Handayani, and Najeela Sihab in the Whatsapp Education Council group and the Mas Minister Core Team which was formed before the defendant became Minister of Education and Culture,” said the prosecutor.
In fact, Jurist Tan has also been named a suspect in this case.However, the person concerned is currently still at large.
