The Panel of Judges at the Jakarta Corruption Court handed down this verdict in case decision number: 68/Pid.Sus-TPK/PN.Jkt.Pst regarding the alleged business cooperation (KSU) corruption case and the acquisition of PT Jembatan Nusantara (JN) by ASDP in 2019-2022.
Ira, together with the Director of Commercial and Services of PT ASDP Muhammad Yusuf Hadi and the Director of Planning and Development of PT ASDP Harry Muhammad Adhi Caksono, were accused of causing state losses.

In the non-unanimous decision, the Chairman of the Assembly, Sunoto, believed that Ira et al should be acquitted (
ontslag van alle recht vervolging
) because there was no criminal act of corruption in the KSU case and the acquisition of PT JN by PT ASDP.
Sunoto views that it is more appropriate to resolve the case in a civil manner because the actions of Ira et al in acquiring PT JN are protected by the principles of the Business Judgment Rule (BJR).
Ira’s verdict also caused a polemic until finally President Prabowo Subianto intervened.
“From the results of communications with the government, Alhamdulillah, today the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, has signed a letter of rehabilitation for the three names,” said Deputy Speaker of the DPR Sufmi Dasco Ahmad in a press conference at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Tuesday (25/11).
So, who exactly is Ira Puspadewi and what is her life like?
Based on Ira’s LinkedIn profile, he is a graduate from the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Brawijaya University.Then, he continued his master’s education in Development Management at the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) and earned a doctorate from the University of Indonesia (UI).
Before leading ASDP, Ira Puspadewi worked at the US-based multinational clothing retail company, GAP Inc., for 17 years until becoming Asia Regional Director of Global Initiatives.
Then, he returned to Indonesia to serve at a state-owned company by serving as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PT Sarinah (Persero) in 2014-2016.
Ira also filled an important position at PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) in 2016-2017.Until finally he was appointed by the Minister of BUMN at that time, Rini Soemarno, to become ASDP boss.
Rini appointed Ira to replace Faik Fahmi who was shifted to become the Main Director of Angkasa Pura I. The decision to appoint Ira is contained in Decree SK-290/MBU/12/2017 concerning the Dismissal and Appointment of the Main Director of the Company (Persero) PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry.
“There are many things that can be developed, ASDP has quite good potential,” said Ira after being appointed as President Director of ASDP at that time, quoted from the company’s official website.
Ira Puspadewi held the position of Managing Director of ASDP for 6 years and 9 months, namely from December 2017 to August 2024.
