“From planning to production, The Second Signal has been created through the efforts of many staff, actors and partners,” read a statement from tvN as the production house, as reported by Sports Seoul via

“To protect Signal’s value, we will make every effort to find the best path for this project and for our viewers, even if it takes additional time.”
However, there is no further information regarding the plan, whether major editing of scenes involving Cho Jin-woong or recruiting new faces to replace the actor.

Because, Cho Jin-woong has finished filming Signal season 2 with Lee Je-hoon and Kim Hye-soo.
Dispatch on Friday (5/12) reported that Cho Jin-woong committed several offenses when he was still in high school in 1994, such as sexual assault and theft, and he was sent to a juvenile detention facility.
The report also claims Cho Jin-woong was fined in 2003, when he was not yet widely known, for assaulting members of a theater troupe while drinking alcohol, and that his driver’s license was also revoked after driving drunk.
Cho Jin-woong made his debut in the film Once Upon a Time in High School (2004) with the stage name Cho Jin-woong, not his real name, Cho Won-joon.
A source quoted by Dispatch claimed the name change was intended to hide his criminal history.
The day after the news, Cho Jin-woong apologized and announced he was leaving the world of entertainment.
“I apologize for disappointing those who supported and trusted me because of my past violations,” Cho said in an official statement on Saturday (6/12) evening.
“I accept all the warnings. Starting today, I will suspend all my activities. I will end my career as an actor,” he said as reported by the Korea JoongAng Daily, Saturday (6/12).
