Princess Diana
is said to have personal regrets before he died in a tragic accident in Paris in August 1997. These regrets are said to relate to his two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry.
According to Lady Di’s close friend, Rosa Monckton, the former wife of King Charles III regrets having given the Panorama interview broadcast by the BBC in November 1995.

“He told me he regretted doing it because he felt the interview had hurt his children,” Monckton said

Diana’s concerns were based on the fact that she felt she had revealed openly and in detail about her personal problems and the breakdown in her relationship with Prince Charles at that time.
Monckton also claimed that Diana was in a vulnerable emotional condition at that time, making it easier to trust Martin Bashir, the BBC journalist who interviewed her.
“He bottled it all up,” Monckton said.”[Bashir] said he shouldn’t talk about it. He distanced himself from people because of it,” he added.
Until 2021, an investigation known as The Dyson Report revealed Bashir’s fraud.Regarding the alleged deception behind the interview, Prince William accused Bashir and the BBC of betraying his mother.
“He was betrayed not only by a rogue reporter, but also by BBC leaders who chose to ignore this matter and not ask difficult questions,” Prince William said at the time.”This failure not only disappoints my mother and my family, but also disappoints the public.”
After the incident was revealed, Bashir apologized to Prince William, Prince Harry and the royal family for his role in the Panorama interview and the events that followed.Even so, he denied having deceived Diana.
“I never wanted to hurt Diana in any way and I don’t believe that we did,” he told The Sunday Times in May 2021.
“Everything we did regarding the interview was according to his wishes, starting from when he wanted to inform the palace, when the interview was broadcast, to its content,” Bashir added.

The Panorama interview itself took place in 1995, when William was 15 years old and Harry was 12 years old.Diana and Charles separated in 1992, but their divorce was only made official in 1996.
In this shocking interview, Princess Diana discussed intimate details including admitting there was a third person in her marriage to Prince Charles III.
