Pramono said he had asked the relevant officials to provide compensation and BPJS Employment to the families of the bereaved drivers.

Previously, the South Jakarta Environment (LH) Department confirmed that the working hours of the truck driver with the initials W who died allegedly due to fatigue after queuing for too long to unload cargo at the Bantar Gebang TPST on Friday (5/12) were in accordance with the regulations.
“Working hours when referring to the work agreement must reach a minimum of 40 hours per week,” said Head of the South Jakarta Environmental Service Dedy Setiono, Monday.
Based on standard working time limits regulated by labor law in Indonesia, total working time cannot exceed 40 hours in one week.
This rule can be applied in two schemes, namely seven hours per day for six working days, or eight hours per day for five working days.
However, continued Dedy, sometimes external factors that are difficult to predict, such as nature, weather and traffic conditions, can affect working hours, resulting in excess hours.
In the future, his party will coordinate with the DKI Environmental Service regarding suggestions for providing a suitable resting place at the Bantar Gebang Integrated Waste Processing Site (TPST) for officers who need it.

He said the South Jakarta LH Sub-Department had also helped with the funeral of the dead garbage truck driver.
“The South Jakarta LH Sub-Department is very saddened by the death of our officer. After the incident, we immediately took care of the body for the deceased. From the time of the incident, the funeral until after the funeral,” said Dedy.
Dedy said that all elements of the South Jakarta LH Sub-Department had raised funds for aid for the deceased and his family.Including, disbursement of BPJS Employment, especially death insurance and scholarships for children of the deceased which are currently being processed.
