DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung
said there were eight locations for the 2026 New Year’s Eve celebration in the capital.The center of the New Year celebration will take place at Bundaran HI, Central Jakarta.
The eight points are Banteng Field, M.H.Thamrin, Sarinah, HI Roundabout, Dukuh Atas, Semanggi, SCBD area, to FX Sudirman.The National Monument (Monas) is no longer a point of celebration.
Pramono said that together with the Deputy Governor of Jakarta Rano Karno and the Regional Secretary of Jakarta Uus Kuswanto he would be present at the HI Roundabout.Seven other points will be attended by mayors.

“So, the main point will be at the HI Roundabout, there will be the governor, deputy governor, regional secretary, then for Kota Tua, the Mayor of West Jakarta, while for Banteng Square, the Mayor of Central Jakarta,” said Pramono during a Press Conference at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Monday (22/12).
Pramono confirmed that there would be no fireworks at the HI Roundabout.According to him, the fireworks display was replaced with video mapping about the Map of Sumatra.
“Including at the HI Roundabout because there are no fireworks, what is available is video mapping carried out by drones which is of course about Sumatra,” he said.
Not only that, Pramono also said that New Year’s Eve celebrations in the National Monument (Monas) area would only be shown by video mapping.
“But at Monas, we will still hold what is called video mapping. But we won’t bring in any crowds for that,” he said.
Pramono emphasized that the celebration would also be accompanied by joint prayers across religions.This provision also applies to all celebration activities in Jakarta, including those held at the mayor’s offices.
Pramono also appealed to the public to temporarily stop using fireworks and firecrackers as a form of concern over the disaster that occurred in Sumatra and a number of other areas.
In this case, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will also issue a circular (SE) regarding the ban on fireworks during New Year celebrations.Nevertheless, he hopes that this will not reduce the essence of society in welcoming the new year.
“I really urge you to cancel it this time. And hopefully this doesn’t reduce our essence in welcoming the new year,” he said.
