can recover in about 1 week, even though the repair process faces a number of obstacles in the field.
“God willing, we hope, maybe in one week (power will be restored), hopefully yes,” said Prabowo at Soewondo Air Base, Medan, North Sumatra, Saturday (13/12).

Prabowo explained that restoring electricity flow could not be done quickly because the physical condition of the infrastructure and natural factors were still obstacles.
According to him, some areas are still flooded, hampering network repairs and cable installation.
“The electricity problem is not as fast as we expected, because of physical conditions and natural conditions that we still have to overcome. The towers are very heavy, then there are problems, some are still flooded so the cables can’t get through,” he said.
Prabowo emphasized that the Government continues to strive for gradual improvements by mobilizing all available resources.
However, he asked the public to understand that the recovery process takes time and cannot be done immediately.
“But let’s not get our hopes up that everything can happen in a moment. I’ve said it many times, I don’t have Moses’ staff, but everyone is working hard,” he said.
Previously, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) aimed for the Brandan-Langsa Emergency Tower which connects Banda Aceh to Sumatra’s electricity backbone to be restored on Sunday (14/12).
“When the Brandan-Langsa Emergency Tower is completed, Banda Aceh will be connected to the Sumatra backbone. The target is Sunday, December 14, energized,” said Head of the ESDM Disaster Preparedness Team Rudy Sufahriadi in his official statement, confirmed by ANTARA in Jakarta, Friday (12/12).
As of December 11, 2025, it was reported that Aceh’s recovery condition was recorded at 36 percent, North Sumatra was at 99.8 percent after subsequent landslides and West Sumatra had been at 100 percent since December 5, 2025.
Aceh is an affected area that still requires attention. To speed up recovery in several villages, PLN needs support in opening up road access that is still cut off for transportation of network materials as well as providing fuel for vehicle operations.
“PLN generators are still very limited in Aceh Tamiang and Bener Meriah,” he said.
