A number of districts and cities in North Sumatra, as well as other areas in Aceh and West Sumatra, were hit by flash floods and landslides on November 25 2025. Nearly a thousand people were found dead and hundreds of residents were declared missing.
The National Disaster Management Agency, in a press conference, Thursday (11/12), reported the latest data as of December 11 2025, the number of fatalities due to flash floods and landslides reached 990 people.In detail, 407 victims who died were found in Aceh Province, 343 victims were in North Sumatra, and 240 victims were found in West Sumatra.
Meanwhile, the number of people reported missing as of Thursday reached 225 people.
BNPB on Thursday also announced that the number of refugees in three provinces affected by flash floods and landslides in Sumatra had reached 884,889 people.
Then, the total aid that has entered Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra from 28 November to 11 December 2025 is 498 tons.Of that figure, 351.4 tons have been distributed to various regions via land, sea and air.
