“That’s why preparations are now stricter, monitoring is tougher. We ask that all procedures that need to be taken must be taken,” said Prabowo during a visit to Bekasi, Monday (17/11).
On that occasion, Prabowo emphasized to his staff that there should not be the slightest deviation in any program that is the government’s priority.This includes the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program which has currently benefited 44 million people.

Prabowo was then grateful that the acceleration of MBG was going much faster than expected.However, he emphasized that the government should not be complacent because the final target is 82.9 million beneficiaries, including school children and pregnant women.
“Thank God, today’s free nutritious meals have reached 44 million, one of the fastest achievements in the world,” he said.
“The President of Brazil told me that Brazil needed 11 years to reach 40 million. We haven’t reached 12 months yet, we have reached 44 million,” he said.
When meeting residents in Bekasi, Prabowo also said that many children said that they had not received MBG.
“I answered, ‘Patience, patience.’This is the fastest we can do it.Because this is people’s money, it must be prepared well.”Preparations must be thorough, so that there are no irregularities,” he said.
Prabowo said that most people felt direct benefits from MBG.He believes MBG has provided many benefits to society, not just a food program, but a long-term investment for the younger generation.
“But whatever, it turns out that people feel the benefits. Even if there are some people who don’t agree, I think that’s normal. But in general, the majority agree. Ask the teachers, whether the children feel the benefits or whether they don’t get one meal at school,” he said.
“I’m sure they’ll feel the benefits. They’ll be stronger. He’ll eat protein, he’ll be taller, his muscles better, his bones stronger, his brain cells smarter.”
The government is said to be serious about dealing with this poisoning problem.Since the poisoning case occurred, the government immediately moved to mitigate it.A number of problematic kitchens were immediately closed.
Direct evaluation steps are carried out, such as mandatory hygienic certification for nutritional fulfillment service units (SPPG) or MBG kitchens, evaluation of chefs, simplifying menus, monitoring by community health centers, and forming a handling task force at the regional level to ensure food safety and quality.
Parallel to that, the government is also strengthening the regulatory framework for optimizing the MBG program.The government issued a Presidential Decree (Keppres) regarding the Coordination Team and a Presidential Regulation (Perpres) regarding the Management of MBG Implementation.
