Responding to this, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri) Bima Arya said that Law Number 23 of 2014 concerning Regional Government regulates the Obligations and Prohibitions for Regional Heads and Deputy Regional Heads.

Bima said that if a regional head is proven to have committed a violation, the Ministry of Home Affairs will firmly impose sanctions. In the case of the Regent of South Aceh, Bima has not explained what sanctions will be given to Mirwan.
“If during an inspection by the Inspectorate General of the Ministry of Home Affairs, regarding facts and data in the field, there are violations of obligations or prohibitions carried out by the Regional Head or Deputy Regional Head, then the inspectorate can recommend imposing sanctions on the regional head,” said Bima when confirmed, Monday (8/12).
Bima only confirmed that his party would examine Mirwan. He revealed that the examination was immediately carried out as soon as Mirwan arrived in Indonesia.
“Based on the information we received yesterday, the regent is still on his way. When today arrives, the Inspectorate General team will immediately carry out an inspection,” he explained.
Previously, Prabowo criticized the Regent of South Aceh, Mirwan MS, who went on Umrah without permission when his area was affected by a disaster.Prabowo asked the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian to process Mirwan.
This was conveyed by Prabowo at a meeting on accelerating disaster management in Sumatra which was held at Sultan Iskandar Muda Air Base, Aceh Besar, Aceh, Sunday (7/12).In this meeting there were ministers from the ranks of the Red and White Cabinet.
Prabowo initially greeted the regents in disaster-affected areas in Sumatra.Prabowo encouraged regional heads to continue fighting for the people.
“All regents present, thank you regents, you who continue to fight for the people, indeed you were chosen to face difficulties,” said Prabowo when greeting the regents who were present virtually.
Prabowo then mentioned the Regent of South Aceh, Mirwan MS, who ‘ran’ when the disaster hit the South Aceh region.Prabowo asked Tito to process Mirwan.
“If those who want to run away, that’s fine, the Minister of Home Affairs can be removed, it will be processed,” said Prabowo.
“That’s if the army deserts, it’s in danger of leaving their subordinates, oh, that’s not possible, sorry, I don’t want to ask which party,” he added.
