Bandang Sumatra.
In a disaster coordination meeting at the Sultan Iskandar Muda Air Base Integrated Command Post, Aceh Besar Regency, Aceh Province, Sunday (7/12) evening, Prabowo received a report regarding the construction of temporary housing (huntara) and permanent housing (huntap) intended for refugees from flash floods and landslides in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra Provinces.
“As of today, Mr President, up to 37,546 people’s houses were damaged, both of which were heavily damaged – this heavy damage included those lost to flood sweeps – then moderate damage and light damage,” said Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Lt. Suharyanto continued that the data was not final, because data collection was still being carried out by BNPB together with the Ministry of Public Works.
The head of BNPB then proposed that temporary shelters intended for refugees be built by members of the TNI and Polri who are members of the disaster management task force. While the housing remains for them, the construction is handed over to the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas.
“Then those who didn’t move, because maybe it was a flood, the impact wasn’t too big for the family so they didn’t have to move, but the house was damaged, we repaired it by the BNPB task force,” said Suharyanto when giving a report to the President at the same meeting.
Regarding the budget, BNPB proposed IDR 60 million per house to Prabowo.
“Is this a permanent residence with a budget of Rp. 60 million, is it enough?”asked Prabowo to Suharyanto.
“So far this is enough, but if the President really wants to add more, we would be happier,” said Suharyanto.
“Rp. 60 million for not relocating, sir. Later the recipient can add more with his own money. Maybe he has family in the village, has children who have a salary and wants to increase it, that’s possible. However, (we) don’t (give it) in the form of money, because we’re worried that the money will be in another form,” added Suharyanto.
“Okay, maybe of course we will calculate price increases, inflation, and so on,” replied Prabowo regarding the construction of permanent housing for refugees.
Meanwhile, for temporary housing, the budget allocated is IDR 30 million per house. The house built measures 36 square meters complete with bedroom facilities, toilet facilities and other rooms.
