Calvijn said the CCTV footage had strong relevance to the series of statements from witnesses and other evidence that investigators had collected. To date, 49 witnesses have been examined to strengthen the construction of the case.
“To date, the team has succeeded in examining 49 witnesses, so every day there are several additional witnesses that we want to ensure shed light on this case,” he said.
Although he was reluctant to reveal details of what was recorded on CCTV, he confirmed that the findings would be a focal point that could lead the investigation to significant developments.
“Then we adjusted it to existing social media, we matched it scientifically, we wanted to see the half-time and this is what we are currently adjusting, it has started to synchronize,” he said.
All witness statements, said Calvijn, were combined with the results of the crime scene (TKP), digital evidence, recordings from various surveillance camera points, as well as traces of activity recorded on social media.
When asked about the arrest of the suspect suspected of committing arson, Calvijn emphasized that investigators were still focused on examining witnesses and completing the case construction. All findings, he added, will be presented in full in due course.
“I explained that earlier and soon, hopefully we will explain it holistically so that this can be complete and perfect,” he said.
However, he reiterated that the findings in the CCTV footage are one of the points currently being most highlighted by investigators.
“One thing that is interesting is that there is something that we really need to explore regarding the CCTV monitoring, whatever it is we have collected, we have connected the monitoring of several CCTVs, that is what we are studying now,” he said.
