Police
has examined 20 witnesses to investigate the burning of kiosks following the attack on debt collectors or eagle eyes (Matel) in Kalibata, South Jakarta.
“Investigators from the Ditreskrimum and South Jakarta Metro Police have investigated 20 witnesses, from kiosk victims, motorbikes and cars that were burned,” said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Budi Hermanto to reporters, Friday (19/12).

Budi said that investigators had obtained the identities of the alleged perpetrators in the arson case in Kalibata.He said, currently investigators are still developing and pursuing the alleged perpetrator.
“It is under the supervision of investigators, when it is secured we will release it,” he said.
Furthermore, Budi claimed that investigators did not face any obstacles in uncovering the kiosk burning in Kalibata.
“There are no obstacles. There must be a match between the incident, the evidence and the person concerned from other supporting witnesses, this must be connected,” he said.
Previously, two matels were victims of beatings in Kalibata, South Jakarta, Thursday (11/12).As a result of the beating, victim MET (41) died at the location, NAT (32) died in hospital.
Regarding this beating case, six members of Yanma Police Headquarters have been named as suspects, namely Brigadier IAM, Bripda JLA, Bripda RGW, Bripda IAB, Bripda BN and Bripda AM.The suspects were charged under Article 170 paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code.
Apart from that, the six members were also declared to have committed serious violations of the Police Professional Code of Ethics.Based on the code of ethics trial, two of them were sentenced to dismissal and the other four to demotion.
In the aftermath of the beating, kiosks were also burned and vehicles were damaged at the same location.The total loss due to this incident is estimated at IDR 1.2 billion.
