is investigating the possession of firearms after
shooting
five farmers as a result of agrarian conflict in Pino Raya, South Bengkulu Regency.
“Regarding the issue of firearms, this is still in the process of being investigated by South Bengkulu Police Criminal Investigation Unit investigators,” said Head of Public Relations of the Bengkulu Regional Police, Police Commissioner Andy Pramudya Wardana in Bengkulu, Tuesday (25/11).
As a result of this conflict, five farmers became shooting victims, one of whom was shot in the stomach through the back.

Pramudya said that his party was also investigating the use of sharp weapons in the conflict and was also searching for evidence of sharp weapons that had not been found.
“As evidence, one SNW revolver type firearm and five casings have been temporarily secured by the South Bengkulu Police, then other evidence in the form of a knife or machete is still being searched for,” he said.
The conflict between employees of PT Agro Bengkulu Selatan or PT ABS and the community in the name of the Pino Raya Community Forum or FMPR occurred on Monday (24/11) afternoon.
The conflict involved around 10 PT ABS employees and the community on behalf of the Pino Raya Community Forum, numbering approximately 40 people.
“That yesterday’s incident on Monday 24 November, at around 13.00 WIB, the facts happened in the field, the location of the incident was in the Block E6 area of the PT ABS plantation, Pino Raya Village, Pino Raya District, South Bengkulu Regency,” he said.
According to Andy, the conflict started with an argument between residents and company employees who were building a road using bulldozers.
“That’s the information we got in the field that there were several demands from the public who came to employees regarding the road work carried out by PT ABS employees. For another victim, an employee from PT ABS who was being treated at the same hospital (as the farmer), was the one who carried out the shooting, because it was suspected that the incident in question was not violent, so the shooting was temporary information,” he said.
