Another suspect, with the initials SY, is suspected of being involved
murder case
FAN (21), a student at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) was finally arrested.
The murder itself also involved a member of the National Police, with the initials AS.The officer on duty at the Probolinggo Police, East Java has also been named a suspect.
The FAN victim is a resident of Tiris District, Probolinggo Regency, whose body was found in the river on Jalan Raya Purwosari Pasuruan, Wonorejo District, Pasuruan Regency.

Head of Public Relations of the East Java Regional Police, Commissioner Jules Abraham Abast, said that SY was arrested by the East Java Regional Police Jatanras Team and local police officers on Jalan Raya Keraksan area, Probolinggo, Thursday (18/12) at around 23.00 WIB.
“The suspect SY was successfully arrested on the Panglima Sudirman highway in Keraksan, Provolinggo Regency last night at around 23.00 WIB,” said Jules to the media crew, Friday (19/12).
Jules said the suspect SY had moved locations to trick the officers.Starting from Lumajang, Pamekasan and ending in the arrest in Probolinggo.
After being successfully arrested, SY was immediately taken by investigators to the East Java Regional Police for the investigation process and to uncover the motive for the student’s murder.
Jules has not revealed SY’s role in this case because the investigation is still ongoing.However, the interim examination revealed that SY and AS had jointly disposed of the victim’s body.
“The information we received is clear that they jointly committed and knew about the crime that had occurred and when they disposed of the victim’s body, the suspects AS and SY were also together,” he said.
On the other hand, Jatanras Ditreskrimum Polda Jatim AKP M Fauzi Kanit III said that the police had difficulty when they wanted to arrest SY in Pamekasan, because the family helped him escape.
Fauzi revealed that his members had carried out tough negotiations with SY’s family before they were finally arrested during their final escape.
“We chased him to Lumajang, to Pamekasan, but when we arrived in Pamekasan someone ran away from his family, with very tough negotiations. Thank God we were able to secure the suspect,” he said.
Previously, a UMM student, FAN (21), a resident of Tiris District, Probolinggo Regency, died and his body was found in the river on Jalan Raya Purwosari Pasuruan, Wonorejo District, Pasuruan Regency, Tuesday (16/12).
Since FAN’s body was discovered, the police have taken several actions, starting from receiving reports, investigating the crime scene, then taking the victim to Bhayangkara Hospital for identification and autopsy.
Furthermore, the police have also examined witnesses who found the body or were aware of the incident.They also collected evidence related to the incident.
The police also arrested AS, a member of the Probolinggo Police, who was suspected of being involved in the alleged murder of FAN.Koni investigators are still pursuing other perpetrators because they are said to have not acted alone.
