The collaboration was established after commemorating Milk Day with Pertamina.
“Our reason is that the Coordinating Ministry for Food established communication when we commemorated National Milk Day. We met, asked each other what programs we could collaborate on. Pertamina offered to collaborate to increase food production, so this synergy became,” he said in hitclubapk3Indonesia’s Transition Buzz Podcast entitled “Collaboration between Government and Business Entities in Achieving Self-Sufficiency in Food, Energy and Water” which aired on hitclubapk3 Indonesia’s YouTube and hitclubapk3Indonesia’s live streaming on Sunday(30/11) starting at 18.00 WIB.
In collaboration, both parties design various policies and initiatives. For the Coordinating Ministry for Food, the initiatives carried out are implementing the Protected Rice Land Program (LSD) and the National Food, Energy and Water Self-Sufficiency Area (KSPEAN).
Meanwhile, from Pertamina’s side, the initiation carried out was by implementing the Independent Energy Village Program.
PT Pertamina (Persero) Corporate Secretary Arya Dwi Paramita said this program was an innovation carried out by Pertamina since 2019.
After covid hit the world and Indonesia in 2020, this program was then developed to build the resilience of communities whose activities were limited by the spread of covid.
Through this program, village communities are empowered by Pertamina. One of them is in the agricultural sector.
Through this program, Pertamina mobilizes village communities to utilize the energy potential around them to become independent, develop themselves and become economically empowered.
“The initial principle that we implement in implementing this program is that we must have energy, but not fossil fuel, it must be renewable energy, it can be gas, water, solar.”How can we use this energy source to increase food security,” he said.
He said that currently the Independent Energy Village Program implemented by Pertamina has been spread across 252 locations, 156 of which are in the agricultural sector.
