Member of Commission II from the PKS faction, Jazuli Juwaini
criticized the comparative study program carried out by the Chancellor of the Institute for Domestic Government (
IPDN
) to Cambridge University, England.
Jazuli conveyed this to the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri), Bima Arya at a meeting at Commission II of the DPR, Tuesday (25/11).
Jazuli believes that the comparative study is not relevant to IPDN’s duties, especially since the DPR’s working visits (kunker) abroad are also currently under moratorium.

“Don’t let the Deputy Minister explain that the Chancellor of IPDN is making a comparative study to Cambridge. The DPR has canceled all visits abroad. This is the Chancellor of IPDN going to Cambridge,” said Jazuli.
“Even though IPDN will become the sub-district head, what will it become? What business does it have with Cambridge? What does it have to do with Cambridge,” he added.
Jazuli on that occasion also asked the Ministry of Home Affairs to continue providing political education to the community.According to him, political education should not only be carried out once every five years.
The former chairman of the PKS faction in the DPR said that currently the level of voting participation among generation Z is small, even though participation is higher than in the United States.
“Gen Z is no longer too interested in voting. Even though voter participation is higher than the US. It’s still better,” he said.
Even so, he believes that the government should not let go.Jazuli even encouraged the Director General of General Politics to increase the budget to continue to improve political education for the public.
“Don’t just teach people about politics every five years. You have to teach them about politics for five years, Mr. Deputy Minister. I just see the importance of political education,” he said.
“So the budget for the director general, who handles political education, must be increased. So that Indonesians are politically literate,” added Jazuli.
