evacuated more than 100 thousand residents in the eastern and northern regions on Sunday (9/11) to anticipate the change in the status of Typhoon Fung-wong to a super typhoon which is predicted to cause heavy rain and storm waves.
Typhoon warning signals have been flashed in most parts of the Philippines.Signal number 5, which is the highest alert, is for the southeastern region of Luzon, including Catanduanes as well as the coastal areas of Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the surrounding areas are under signal number 3.

Super Typhoon Fung-wong, known locally as Uwan, is expected to make landfall in Aurora Province in central Luzon as early as Sunday evening.The typhoon had sustained winds of 185 km per hour and gusts of up to 230 km per hour.
Several areas in Eastern Visayas are already experiencing power outages.
Several images shared by the Philippine Coast Guard in Camarines Sur showed evacuees carrying bags and personal belongings as they transferred from long, narrow passenger boats to waiting trucks during preemptive evacuation operations.
Hundreds of flights were cancelled
More than 300 domestic and international flights have been canceled due to the potential risk of super typhoon Fung-wong.

in X shows stormy conditions in Catanduanes Province, with cloudy skies, tree branches swaying violently in the wind and heavy rain seen falling.
Fung-wong approached the Philippines just days after the country was hit by Typhoon Kalmaegi, which killed 204 people and left a trail of destruction before hitting Vietnam, where it claimed five more lives and devastated coastal communities.
In the fishing village of Vung Cheo in central Vietnam, fishing boats were seen piled up in wrecks along the main road on Saturday, where hundreds of lobster farms had been swept away or damaged.
