(Persero) reveals well findings’
treasure
‘ contains 724 million barrels, which is claimed to be the largest find in the last 10 years or decade.
This was stated by Deputy Main Director (Wadirut) of Pertamina Oki Muraza when detailing the company’s various achievements.The discovery of a ‘treasure trove’ in the form of unconventional oil and gas (MNK) is said to be the largest in the upstream oil and gas sector.
“In the upstream oil and gas sector, we succeeded in finding the

The discovery of this new oil and gas source was conveyed by PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) in November 2024. They explained that the finding came from the Gulamo DET-1 Well, which is the first MNK well in Indonesia which succeeded in proving the existence of hydrocarbon flows to the surface.
MNK is oil and gas that is formed and confined in fine-grained and low-permeability reservoir rocks in the maturity zone.MNK will be economical if produced through horizontal drilling using stimulation techniques

This discovery proves that Pertamina’s efforts to develop unconventional oil and gas resources have borne fruit.
On the other hand, Pertamina Finance Director Emma Sri Martini explained a number of the company’s efforts to remove or reduce dependence on LPG imports.
“Regarding LPG, this is a substitute and reduces imports. We have also included this in our strategic program to build an LPG Plant to reduce the portion of imported LPG,” explained Emma.
