with the initials MAL (17) is suspected of being a victim of violence by a teacher.The victim was ironed on the chest until he suffered burns.
The incident started when MAL and six friends got tattoos on their bodies.The tattoos are engraved with their respective names.Their actions were caught by the school’s guardians.They were gathered in a room and given advice not to repeat the action.
Suddenly, a teacher named Bahri came carrying a hot iron and immediately applied it to the victim’s chest.

The victim was hot and did not put up any resistance.He just surrendered and served his sentence with his body burned.
“At around seven in the evening I got an iron on my chest from Mr. Bahri, I wrote my name on the chest, there were about six of us who were caught, we were punished, only I was ironed,” he said when met, Wednesday (12/11).
The student from a poor family from Central Maluku Regency then protested against the punishment which was considered unreasonable and inhumane.
“For me, the punishment is inhumane,” he said.
The principal of the 40 Ambon Middle School, Afia Joris, said that the person who carried out the abuse was an employee of the Ministry of Social Affairs who served at the 40 Ambon Middle School.
“So this act of violence was not carried out by employees, foster carers or dormitory guardians, teachers, no one, it was one of the Ministry of Social Affairs employees who works at the people’s school,” he said when met in his office, Wednesday (12/11) afternoon.
He explained that the reason the victim was ironed was because he violated school rules so he was given a punishment.He regretted that the punishments given to his students were excessive.
He said that the Ministry of Social Affairs employee named Bahri had served as a new student admission team after the Ambon 40 High School People’s School started on July 3 2025.
Bahri was placed in Ambon to collaborate because human resources (HR) were still relatively minimal regarding people’s schools.
“I was also shocked why the father was there and why he did what he did, that’s what I regret, I don’t accept my children being victims of violence,” he added.
So far, he said, his party has not taken legal action because it is still in the mediation process with the perpetrator.
“We are handling it, but it is still obstructed so there is no legal process yet,” he said.
The 40 High School People launched by the Ministry of Social Affairs is located on Jalan Wolter Monginsidi, Lateri Village, Baguala District, Ambon, Maluku.
The school accommodates about a hundred poor students.They come from poor families and cannot go to school due to economic limitations.
