Savic made this statement in response to the latest circular from Deputy Rais Aam and Katib PBNU which reiterated Gus Yahya’s dismissal on Wednesday (26/11).The letter was signed by Deputy Rais Aam Afifuddin Muhajir and Katib Ahmad Tajul Mafakhir.

According to Savic, the dismissal of the Chairman of Tanfidziyah can only be done through a conference, or extraordinary conference.Savic himself was reluctant to respond to the authenticity of the letter.
“As far as I have read the AD/ART, Syuriah cannot fire the General Chairperson of Tanfidziyah. It must go through a Congress, which in this case is an Extraordinary Congress,” he said when contacted, Wednesday (26/11).
Savic therefore regrets Rais Aam’s decision.Moreover, he said, until now there has been no forum that has given Gus Yahya the opportunity to provide clarification on Rais Aam’s accusations.
He said there were several PBNU officials who were aware of the problem and were ready to be summoned to provide information, but they never did.
“There has never been a forum (plenary meeting, joint meeting and the like) that gave Gus Yahya the opportunity to answer what he considered problematic, namely pro-Zionist issues and financial issues,” he said.
Rais Aam again issued a letter confirming that Gus Yahya would no longer serve as General Chair or Chair of the PBNU Tanfidziyah.Instead, the reins of power at PBNU are currently held by Rais Aam.
“Based on point three above, KH. Yahya Cholil Staquf no longer has the authority and right to use the attributes, facilities and/or things attached to the position of PBNU General Chair or act for and on behalf of the Nahdlatul Ulama Association as of November 26 2025 at 00.45 WIB,” reads point four of the letter.
