For the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this resolution is an appropriate international response to the Zionist State’s arbitrary actions against UN agencies operating in the Palestinian territories, including UNRWA.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that this resolution strengthens the role of the UN in protecting Palestinians and reaffirms Israel’s obligations as an occupying party, especially in terms of opening humanitarian corridors and ending actions that hinder the work of UN agencies.
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry hopes this resolution can be implemented “immediately and fully” and closely monitored by the international community, it was reported

On Friday, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution demanding that Israel open unrestricted humanitarian access in Gaza, stop attacks on UN facilities, and comply with international law regarding its obligations as an occupying party.
The vote on this resolution followed an advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in October outlining Israel’s responsibilities under the UN Charter and humanitarian law.
This resolution was proposed by Norway and dozens of other countries. The draft was supported by 139 countries, with 19 countries abstaining and only 12 countries rejecting it, including the United States (US) and Israel.
“Civilians are paying the highest price. Respect for humanitarian principles is being eroded. Basic principles of humanitarian law are under pressure,” Norway’s Permanent Representative, Ambassador Merete Fjeld Brattested, said before the vote.
