Corruption Eradication Commission spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said investigators were pursuing the party that gave the order to delete the electronic messages as intended.
“Among them are in the form of cellphones which are thought to belong to service parties or those who are service heads,” said Budi when confirmed at his office, Jakarta, Tuesday (23/12) evening.

“In the BBE (Electronic Evidence), investigators have also partially opened it and found communications that were allegedly deleted,” he added.
Investigators discovered the deletion of electronic messages when confiscating cellphones during a series of searches at the Bekasi Regency Government office complex on Monday (22/12).
Budi said investigators would find out who gave the order through examining witnesses.
“Then, if there is, who is it, what is their motive, that will of course be explored by investigators in the investigation process later,” he said.
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is prosecuting Bekasi Regent Ade Kuswara, Regent Ade Kuswara’s father, H.M Kunang, and a private party named Sarjan in a case of alleged bribery related to the debt bond project.
This case was uncovered through a sting operation (OTT).
In the last 1 year since December 2024, Ade Kuswara has routinely asked Sarjan for a project package ‘bond’ through intermediary H.M Kunang and other parties.
The total ‘ijon’ given by Sarjan to Ade Kuswara together with HM Kunang reached IDR 9.5 billion.
The money was given four times through intermediaries.
Apart from that, throughout 2025, Ade Kuswara is suspected of also receiving other receipts from a number of parties totaling IDR 4.7 billion.
The suspects are currently being detained at the KPK State Detention Center (Rutan) for the first 20 days until January 8 2026.
Ade Kuswara and H.M Kunang as the parties receiving the bribes are suspected of violating Article 12 a or Article 11 and Article 12B of the Corruption Eradication Law (UU Tipikor)

Meanwhile, Sarjan, as the party giving the bribe, is suspected of violating Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or b or Article 13 of the Corruption Law.
In handling this OTT case, the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) sealed two houses belonging to the Head of the Bekasi Regency District Prosecutor’s Office, Eddy Sumarman, in Bekasi and Pondok Indah.
Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the Corruption Eradication Committee, Asep Guntur Rahayu, said that the sealing was carried out when the team carried out an OTT in Bekasi Regency on Thursday, December 17 2025, finding suspected indications of Eddy’s involvement.
“So, the sealing was carried out during the OTT, initially suspected of being the perpetrator of a criminal act of corruption,” he said at a press conference Saturday (20/12) morning.
Asep said that at that time the team failed to bring Eddy along with the parties caught in the OTT in Bekasi Regency.Asep did not explain the obstacles the team faced so they failed to bring Eddy to the KPK’s Red and White House.
After holding a case or exposure with the leadership, Eddy’s involvement was deemed to be insufficient evidence.
“We will of course also discuss the involvement of this party in the exposure, but those who have been determined to go up for investigation are the suspects who have met sufficient evidence,” explained Asep.
Therefore, Asep continued that investigators would open the seal again at Eddy’s house.
