Indonesian female long-distance runner, Odekta Elvina Naibaho made history by scoring a hat trick of gold medals

Odekta managed to win the 2025 SEA Games marathon gold medal after appearing as the fastest in the race at Run Happy and Healthy Bike Lane, Bangkok, Sunday (14/12).He carved a time record of 2 hours 43 minutes 13 seconds.
Odekta beat the Filipino runner, Artjoy Torregosa, who finished second with 2 hours 48 minutes 00 seconds and the Vietnamese athlete, Thi Thu Ha Bui, who won bronze with 2 hours 54 minutes 40 seconds.

Gold in Thailand was Odekta’s third in a row from the SEA Games marathon event.Previously, he won gold at the 2021 SEA Games which will be held in 2022 in Vietnam, the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia.
At the Vietnam SEA Games, Odekta recorded a time of 2 hours 55 minutes 28 seconds.
Two years later in Cambodia, he sharpened his performance by finishing in front with a time of 2 hours 48 minutes 14 seconds.
The results in Bangkok further confirm Odekta’s dominance in the Southeast Asian women’s marathon, as well as showing her consistency in maintaining performance in multi-events.
Odekta’s achievements also complement Indonesia’s dominance in the 2025 SEA Games marathon. In the men’s sector, Indonesia also won gold through Robi Syianturi.
Robi was the fastest with a time of 2 hours 27 minutes 33 seconds, ahead of two Filipino runners, Arlan Jr.Arbois finished second with a time of 2 hours 30 minutes 19 seconds and Richard Salano finished third with 2 hours 31 minutes 29 seconds.
Odekta will compete again in the 10 thousand meters today, Monday (15/12).This means an opportunity for Odekta to win a second gold medal at the 2025 SEA Games.
