at a number of churches in Jakarta, Wednesday (24/12) evening.
During his series of visits, Pramono emphasized the importance of celebrating Christmas with joy but still simplicity.
He gave this message because a number of regions in Indonesia are being hit by natural disasters, especially sporadic hydrometeorological disasters at the end of this year.

“Let’s welcome this Christmas with joy, but don’t forget simplicity. Because now some of our brothers and sisters are in Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra which are being hit by disasters,” said Pramono in his speech, at the Rawamangun Holy Family Church, East Jakarta, Wednesday (24/12).
Pramono also asked church members to join in praying for the people in a number of areas affected by the disaster, especially in Sumatra.
He hopes that the disaster will not drag on and that the lives of residents in the affected areas will soon return to normal.
“And for that reason, let’s all pray that all of our brothers and sisters will get convenience, goodness and safety,” said Pramono.
Pramono emphasized the commitment of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) in maintaining and ensuring a safe space for every citizen to carry out worship according to their beliefs.
He also appreciated the church’s active role in cultivating faith, strengthening families, and social services for the surrounding community.
“The DKI Jakarta government is committed to maintaining religious harmony,” said Pramono.
Pramono also reaffirmed his commitment as Governor of DKI Jakarta to protect all groups.He hopes that the religious harmony that exists in Jakarta can be an example for other regions in Indonesia.
“Because of the togetherness that we do, and at the same time the harmony of religious communities indicates that now in Jakarta, hopefully it can become

for other areas.”That the life of religious harmony is the source of life if we want this nation to become a great nation, a developed nation, a nation that is also respected by the nations of the world,” said Pramono.
Apart from the Holy Family Church in Rawamangun, East Jakarta, there were nine churches visited by DKI Jakarta Provincial Government officials together with the DKI Jakarta Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) this Christmas Eve.
Pramono among others reviewed the situation at the Cathedral Church, GPIB Immanuel, and Rawamangun Holy Family Church.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Rano Karno visited five churches, namely the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary Queen, the Church of Saint John the Evangelist, the Indonesian Baptist Church Kebayoran Baru, GKI Kebayoran Baru, and the Church of Santo Stefanus Cilandak.
Meanwhile, the DKI Jakarta Regional Secretary, Uus Kuswanto, visited two churches, namely the Sacred Heart Church and the Senen Charismatic Worship Service (GSJA CWS) Congregation of God Church.
