The Indonesian U-17 national team finished the preliminary round in Group H of the 2025 U-17 World Cup with one win and two defeats.Even though he twice acknowledged the opponent’s superiority, Supriyono considered the maximum result in the final match against Honduras to be proof of the development in question.

Starting from these two defeats, Supriyono saw an improvement in the performance of Nova Arianto’s team in various aspects.Mentality, technique and decision making are seen to have developed a lot from the previous two matches.
“In the third match against Honduras they improved more. There was evaluation and analysis which I saw made basic techniques improve. Defensive principles also improved. In fact they were able to win 2-1 against Honduras,” he said.
Evandra Florasta and Alberto Fadly scored two goals for the U-17 Indonesian National Team.According to Supriyono, the goal scored by Alberto was a form of improvement in collective performance.
“The process of the second goal was not easy for young players. Previously it was not easy for us to get into the Honduras penalty box, but in the end we were able to finish,” he said.
Furthermore, Supriyono hopes that the Indonesian U-17 National Team will carry out an evaluation after the preliminary round for the U-17 World Cup ends.Even though they haven’t officially fallen, he wants the Garuda Muda squad to slowly look towards the next edition of the U-17 World Cup which is held every year.
“Of course the U-17 World Cup needs to be our standard. By holding this tournament every year, it means there is motivation that this can be a forum for potential players,” he said.
“Players can get a platform so that their character can be formed through tiered competitions with a projection of appearing in the World Cup,” he stressed.
