The arrests were made during a joint patrol after a brawl broke out that killed two perpetrators and burned 13 houses.
“The joint TNI-Polri team carried out a joint patrol and succeeded in securing five people in two different locations,” said Commander of Kodim 1408 BS Makassar, Colonel Kav Ino Setyo Dermawan to reporters, Saturday (22/11).

The five people arrested were TH (53), AH (35), ZK (39), DS and AP.Officers found evidence of methamphetamine and a methamphetamine suction device.Patrols were held on Friday (21/11) at 02.00 WITA at several points prone to brawls in the Tallo District area.
“From the first patrol we secured seven sachets suspected of being methamphetamine, then from the second patrol we secured evidence suspected of being drugs,” he explained.
Based on the results of the initial investigation, the perpetrators were determined to consume the illicit goods not far from the TNI and Polri post in Sapiria village.
“Of course, we always coordinate closely with the security forces. We will hand over the perpetrators and their evidence to the authorities for further processing,” he said.
The five perpetrators were handed over to the Makassar Police for further investigation.
Ino explained that his party together with the police would continue to provide security in the Sapiria Village area so that brawls that caused 2 fatalities and 13 burned houses would no longer occur.
“The joint command post will continue to be adjusted according to the escalation of the situation. However, the most important thing is community cooperation. Initial indications, quick reports and quick handling are very dependent on information from residents to security forces, both TNI, Polri and local government,” he said.
