Head of the Facilities and Infrastructure Division of the North Toraja Regency Agricultural Service, South Sulawesi, initials TR, was named a suspect in the alleged corruption case of a piped irrigation project at the North Toraja Agricultural Service in 2024.
“The Tana Toraja Prosecutor’s Office has officially named one suspect with the initials TR who is the activity organizer and field coordinator of the technical team in the pipe irrigation work,” said Head of the Tana Toraja District Prosecutor’s Office, Frendra AH in a release, Saturday (5/12).

This case started with the management of the piped irrigation budget for 2024 which was sourced from the Directorate General of Facilities and Infrastructure, Ministry of Agriculture.Then North Toraja Regency received an allocation of IDR 8 billion with a realization of IDR 7.92 billion for three activity items.
“This activity was carried out at 80 location points by 80 farmer groups in type III self-management,” he said.
However, in carrying out the work, the suspect was suspected of committing various irregularities, with TR directing 60 farmer groups to buy pipe materials from certain shops that had previously collaborated with him.

“and by fabricating the report, TR took personal advantage,” he explained.
Based on the results of the BPK’s examination, said Frendra, it was found that state financial losses amounted to IDR 2.2 billion due to the suspect’s actions.
“After being named a suspect, TR was immediately detained for the next 20 days,” he said.
As a result of his actions, TR was charged with the provisions, primary article 2 paragraph (1) in conjunction with article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning corruption in conjunction with Law Number 20 of 2001 in conjunction with article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code subsidiary article 3 in conjunction with article 18 paragraph (1) of Law Number 31 of 1999 in conjunction with Law Number 20 of 2001 junctoarticle 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.
