Acts of abuse committed by a member

Head of North Sumatra Regional Police Public Relations Commissioner Pol Ferry Walintukan said that from the results of the examination it turned out that the active police officer who abused the driver had been suffering from a serious mental disorder or schizophrenia since 2001. However, he continued, so far the alleged perpetrator of the abuse had never committed any dangerous act.

The abuse carried out by Bripda G and which went viral for some time occurred in front of the North Sumatra Police Headquarters, Medan City, Tuesday (18/11) at around 12.50 WIB.The victim of the abuse was ALP, an employee of Avsec Kualanamu Airport who was passing by on a motorbike at that location.
Ferry said the victim was being treated in hospital, while Bripda G had also been taken to the Prof Ildrem Mental Hospital in Medan Tuntungan District, Medan City to receive medical treatment.
“Bripda G has been taken to the Prof. Ildrem Mental Hospital. The victim is seeking treatment at Columbia Asia Hospital himself. The victim has injuries to his body,” said Ferry, Thursday (20/11).
Ferry explained that even though he suffered from a mental disorder, Bripda G was known to have never committed any dangerous actions.Bripda G, he said, continues to carry out daily duties like other members so that he has not been detected as needing special care during this time.
“Bripda G has never carried out any dangerous actions, all this time he has been actively carrying out his duties so that the person concerned was not treated,” he explained.
Meanwhile, a specialist in mental disorders at Bhayangkara Hospital in Medan, Dr. Superida Sp.Kj, said that Bripda G had been suffering from paranoid schizophrenia for a long time or a serious mental disorder.
Quoting from various sources, this mental disorder is characterized by symptoms such as delusions and hallucinations, where sufferers often feel that other people want to fight or be hostile to them.The psychiatric disorder affects the sufferer’s ability to distinguish between reality and imagination.
“There are several factors that a person can experience schizophrenia, including mental stress, economic factors, job demands, family factors and so on,” said Dr. Superida.
According to him, Bripda G, who experienced acute schizophrenia, could commit criminal acts when there was a trigger.However, so far Bripda G has never committed a criminal act.
“He has never committed a crime. We are treating him with a diagnosis of schizophrenia, which is a serious mental disorder so his emotions are definitely less stable,” he said.
Superida said that Bripda G had been experiencing mental disorders since 2001. Bripda G had been separated from his wife for a long time, which worsened the condition of the police officer who had served at the North Sumatra Police Mobile Brigade.
“Bripda G has separated from his wife. Maybe it was because of the mental disorder that caused his wife to leave that Bripda G’s burden became heavier until at times certain factors caused Brigadier G’s mental health to shake,” he explained.
It is known that the action of Bripda G, who was wearing a North Sumatra Police sports uniform, assaulted a road driver in front of the North Sumatra Police, went viral on social media.Bripda G abused the ALP victim, especially on the head and uttered threatening sentences.
