) denied accusations that the police deliberately let go
drug dealer
with the initials R, which resulted in the burning of the Muara Batang Girls Police Station by residents.
Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Police, Kombes Ferry Walintukan, claimed that the dealer escaped from the detention room at around 05.00 WIB.
“The information is that the person concerned (R) ran away and was chased,” he told reporters, Saturday (20/12).

After that, he said, at around 11.00 WIB, residents came to the Muara Batang Girls Police Station and asked where Bandar R was.
Ferry claimed that at that time the officers had explained that the perpetrator was running away and that the police were searching for him.He claimed that the search had also been extended to West Sumatra (Sumbar).
“Then it was explained that R had run away. They (police officers) had chased him all the way to West Sumatra,” he said.
Nevertheless, he said that dissatisfied people then carried out acts of vandalism and arson at the Muara Batang Girls Police Station.
“The crowd came to the police station asking to release this suspect. The people were not satisfied, then the people carried out vandalism and arson,” he said.
Previously, the Muara Batang Girls Police Station, in Mandailing Natal (Madina) Regency, North Sumatra (North Sumatra), was burned to the ground by residents, Saturday (20/12).This incident occurred because residents were disappointed with the performance of the police who were suspected of releasing a drug dealer.
In the video circulating, the crowd was seen burning a motorbike parked in the yard of the police station.The fire then spread to the building and burned the roof of the office.Apart from that, a police service car was also overturned by residents.
The incident started with the arrest of a man named Romadon who was suspected of being a drug dealer in Singkuang Village, Friday (19/12) at around 16.30 WIB.
The residents, most of whom were housewives, then handed Romadon over to the Muara Batang Girls Police.However, the public heard the news that the dealer had been released by the police.This issue spread among society and sparked disappointment.
Residents even saw Romadon outside the police station.Disappointed residents staged a protest at the Muara Batang Girls Police Station.They also blocked the road connecting Singkuang – Natal.
