Rumors
Maarten Paes
and
Joey Pelupessy
have reached an agreement and are one step closer to joining Persib Bandung, becoming stronger and becoming a hot topic of conversation on social media on Thursday (25/12).
Two naturalized Indonesian national team players, Maarten Paes and Joey Pelupessy, have been widely linked with Persib in recent times.
However, until now there has been no official statement from Maung Bandung management regarding the truth of these rumors.

Maarten Paes is currently under contract with FC Dallas until December 2026. Meanwhile, Joey Pelupessy is still a Lommel SK player with a contract period until June 2026.
Suddenly the news that Maarten Paes and Joey Pelupessy were said to have agreed to join Persib made netizens excited.
“Paes loan or buy huh?”asked other netizens.
“He said it was permanent,” said another netizen.
“Games are not loans,” said another netizen.
Persib itself had previously brought in two naturalized Indonesian national team players who had careers in Europe, namely Thom Haye and Eliano Reijnders, at the start of the season.
The presence of the two is part of a major overhaul of the Maung Bandung squad to face a busy schedule in Asian competitions and domestic leagues.
If the rumors about the arrival of Maarten Paes and Joey Pelupessy are true, the Super League is predicted to become more competitive and attract the attention of the national and international football public.
“This is my assumption, because Persib’s position is good in Asia, which has the potential to move up the Indonesian League standings, so PSSI also has a role in this in the transfer of hereditary players to Persib. There are pluses and minuses too, sometimes,” said a netizen.
“It’s normal. Because if we want to move up our league, it’s the fastest this way,” said another netizen.
“It won’t be bad as long as Persib is still playing in ACL 2, especially if Persib can get through to ACL Elite. Because every month the players will definitely get opponents whose quality players are above our lineage players,” said another netizen.
The Super League operator, ILeague, has responded positively to the issue of joining Indonesian national team players who currently have careers abroad in domestic competitions.
ILeague’s Operational Director, Asep Saputra, believes that if this news is truly realized, the value of the Super League competition will experience a significant increase.
“From ILeague’s response, as long as the player registration period opens on January 10, of course it goes back to the policy of each club. However, if these players really come, the value of the competition will clearly increase,” said Asep.
