The Cambodian contingent will only take part in 13 sports
SEA Games 2025
after attracting participation in eight sports, including football.
The Cambodian National Olympic Committee (NOCC) and the Cambodian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports made surprising news on Wednesday (26/11) by canceling the appearance of the Cambodian national team and seven other sports in the 2025 SEA Games.
By attracting eight sports to the 2025 SEA Games contingent, Cambodia only retained 13 sports for the biggest multi-event in Southeast Asia.

A total of 13 sports that Cambodia will participate in at the 2025 SEA Games are: swimming, athletics, esports, fencing, gymnastics, kickboxing, taekwondo, horse riding, jetski, triathlon, teqball and volleyball.
Quoted from AKP, on Tuesday (25/11), NOCC announced that Cambodia would send 333 delegates in 21 sports.Now, by only participating in 13 sports, Cambodia will send 150 people to Thailand.
A total of eight sports were withdrawn by the Cambodian Government, namely: judo, karate, pencak silat, petanque, wrestling, wushu, football and sepak takraw.
In letter number 401 sent to the SEA Games Federation, NOCC stated the reason for withdrawing the eight sports from the 2025 SEA Games, namely due to safety and protection issues for athletes and officials.
“After receiving the highest direction from the Head of the Royal Government, it finally decided to minimize the risk by organizing a reduction in the number of sports that will be competed in Songkhla, an area affected by the flood, and several other sports,” wrote AKP.
