Iskandar considered that this attitude was inappropriate to convey without directly confirming it with the Mayor of Sibolga.
He emphasized that while the meeting was taking place, Ahmad Syukri, who is also a NasDem cadre, was in the Aek Doras River area, evacuating residents affected by the flood.

“You should check first before commenting. Human life is much more valuable than a meeting that does not provide real solutions,” said Iskandar, Thursday (11/12).
He also highlighted that the disaster in the Sibolga and Central Tapanuli areas had been going on for more than two weeks, but was still being faced with repeated meetings without significant steps in the field.
“It’s been more than two weeks and there are still meetings. So when will the action take place?”he said.
Regarding Lasarus’ statement that the Mayor of Sibolga could only ‘ask for help’, Iskandar emphasized that providing assistance is the responsibility of the position of a people’s representative.
Iskandar said that Ahmad Syukri had actually sent the Regional Secretary to attend the meeting.In fact, Ahmad Syukri has conveyed the reason for his sudden absence to other members of Commission V.
“Is Lasarus not a representative of the people? He is paid by the people to work for the people, not for free,” he said.
