no longer appoint famous lawyers

to accompany him in the trial process of the Education Digitalization Program corruption case for the 2019-2022 period.
Nadiem’s lawyer, Dodi S Abdulkadir, said that Nadiem’s family had decided not to ask Hotman for defense assistance in the upcoming prosecution stage.
He explained that the family took this step because the famous lawyer was currently busy dealing with other big cases apart from the laptop corruption case.

“I know from the family that Mr. Hotman was not appointed again because they considered that Mr. Hotman should hold another case,” he told reporters, Sunday (23/11).
Dodi said that instead the family has now appointed Ari Yusuf Amir to defend Nadiem Makarim in the upcoming trial process.
So, he said, there will be two teams of lawyers who will accompany Nadiem in the trial process, namely the team of lawyers he leads and the team from Ari Yusuf Amir.
“Now, at the time of prosecution, the power of attorney is from the MRP office (Dodi Abdulkadir’s legal team) and Mr Ari Yusuf’s office,” he concluded.
Previously, Nadiem was said to have appointed Thomas Trikasih Lembong’s former attorney, Ari Yusuf Amir, as his lawyer for the upcoming trial.
When confirmed, Ari also confirmed that he and his team had been appointed by Nadiem to be his lawyer.He said that he had been given power of attorney by the Nadiem family since November 17 2025.
“We met with his family and his wife. Then they were invited to a meeting by all their families and then also had a meeting with the previous team, Mr. Dodi’s team. After a new understanding, they were officially appointed by them and given power of attorney,” he explained.
In this case, Nadiem Makarim and three other suspects were transferred to the Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the Central Jakarta District Prosecutor’s Office on Monday 10 November 2025.

After being handed over to the public prosecutor, now Nadiem and the other four suspects just have to wait for the process of drafting the indictment before being handed over to the Jakarta Corruption Court for immediate trial.
