At least nine people were injured in Molotov cocktail and smoke bomb attacks at a number of Taipei subway stations,

After this action, the perpetrator also attacked residents around another station using a knife.

citing Taiwanese media reports saying that at least nine people were injured, and four of them were seriously injured.
Until now, the motive behind the attack is still unknown.
Taiwanese Prime Minister Cho Jung Tai said in a Facebook post that the bombs were thrown between the M7 and M8 exits of Taipei Main Station.
“The perpetrator wore a mask and deliberately threw several Molotov cocktails and smoke bombs, then attacked people randomly at Zhongshan MRT Station, causing many injuries,” Cho wrote.
He also added that local authorities had increased security at Taipei Main Station, Zhongshan Station and the surrounding area.
Meanwhile, Taiwan President Lai Ching-te said that security had been tightened throughout Taiwan.
In a Facebook post, Lai emphasized that a thorough investigation would be carried out, and the government would make every effort to ensure the safety of citizens.
Lai also appealed to residents at train stations or other busy places to calm down, and advised them to follow directions from law enforcement officers, reported by The Straits Times.
He asked the public to immediately report suspicious activities or situations to the police or station officers.
