Deputy for Small Business at the Ministry of UMKM, Temmy Satya Permana, said that currently consumers tend to choose goods based only on price, not the origin of the product.
“We are also faced with people’s trust which still depends on the selling price. So sometimes our brothers and sisters no longer see whose product this is, but those who see it as good and the price is cheap, are the ones who are included in the basket,” said Temmy at the launch of the Shopee UMKM Campus Online Class 10 Year Special Edition at the Smesco Building, South Jakarta, Tuesday (18/11).

“So once again, maybe my message to Shopee friends is to make sure they can differentiate between imported products and local products,” he continued.
Temmy said that currently Indonesian businesses are experiencing difficult times due to tight competition, both in the market

because of the onslaught of imported products which are cheaper. This is of particular concern to the Ministry of MSMEs.
Therefore, the government will ensure connectivity between local producers and sellers.
“So it is hoped that many of our sellers will increasingly sell local products,” he said.
On that occasion, Temmy also appreciated Shoppe for continuing to support MSMEs, including through the Shopee Online Class MSME Campus program. This program is an effort to train and mentor MSME entrepreneurs.
“We really appreciate Shopee’s efforts to consistently accompany MSME friends both offline, even though classes have started now.
