“The governor (Mualem) responded to the request for the permit (umrah) submitted, and the governor also responded. In essence, considering the conditions of the areas affected by this disaster, the process of requesting the regent’s permit to the Ministry of Home Affairs cannot be continued,” explained Benni when confirmed by hitclubapk3Indonesia.com by telephone, Saturday (6/12).
“So, the Governor (Mualem) did not process the permit up to the Ministry of Home Affairs. If the regional head wants to leave the country, he must have permission. Conditions like this can be said to mean that the Regent of South Aceh (Mirwan MS) is carrying out the Umrah pilgrimage without permission,” he stressed.
Benni admitted that the Ministry of Home Affairs initially monitored the news from the mass media regarding Mirwan leaving South Aceh during the flood disaster. His party immediately moved quickly to confirm this with the South Aceh Regency Government.
According to data obtained by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Mirwan applied for an Umrah permit for December 2 2025 to December 12 2025. However, Benni said that the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian had ordered Mirwan to immediately return to Aceh.
“The Minister of Home Affairs (Tito) yesterday directly called the person concerned (South Aceh Regent Mirwan MS), telling him to go home. The Minister of Home Affairs immediately responded and contacted the person concerned to immediately return to his homeland, back to Aceh,” said Tito’s subordinate.
“So, the Ministry of Home Affairs team has flown to Aceh. We hope that when he (Mirwan MS) comes home, we will immediately check him. So, we have an inspection because he left South Aceh. (Inspection and sanctions) are in accordance with applicable regulations,” continued Benni.
The Ministry of Home Affairs is disappointed with Mirwan MS’s reckless action in leaving South Aceh when the area was hit by floods and landslides.According to Benni, regional heads should be present among the affected communities.
