began deploying data collection teams for Population and Civil Registration document services (
Dukcapil
) to areas affected by floods and landslides in Sumatra.
Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian said that the Ministry of Home Affairs had formed nine teams which were deployed to the affected areas.
“We also from the Ministry of Home Affairs formed 9 teams. From Dukcapil to three provinces starting December 10 yesterday to speed up services for processing Dukcapil documents such as birth certificates, lost ID cards and so on. Without charging a fee,” said Tito at Halim Perdana Kusuma Air Base, Jakarta, Friday (19/12).

Tito has previously conveyed the discourse of waiving fees for lost documents for Sumatran flood victims.
In a meeting with President Prabowo Subianto in Aceh, last Sunday (7/12) evening, he mentioned that many important community documents such as KTPs, diplomas, land certificates, and vehicle ownership documents were lost as a result of the disaster.
“For KTP documents under our Ministry, we have made them free, Sir. But perhaps those for diplomas from the Ministry of Education and Culture, Dasmen, then STNK-BPKB from the National Police Chief, ATR-BPN certificates, so as not to burden them, will be free,” said Tito.
“Okay, we’ll count everything later,” answered Prabowo.

Most recently, the Head of the BNPB Data and Information Center, Abdul Muhari, reported that the number of victims who died was 1,068 as of Thursday (18/12).
“This addition changes the total number of deaths from 1,059 yesterday, December 17, to 1,068 today.”Muhari said in a press conference broadcast on YouTube BNPB, Thursday (18/12).
Then, there are still 190 victims who are still on the wanted list or missing as of Thursday (18/12), compared to previous data of 192 as of Wednesday (17/12).
