Deputy Minister of Health Benjamin Paulus Octavianus said that a rapid reaction team from his ministry was already at the disaster site for medical assistance.
Benjamin and his staff will fly to Aceh and North Sumatra starting Monday (1/12).Meanwhile, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin has reviewed conditions in Padang, West Sumatra.

“We are coming there tomorrow and there will already be diseases caused by the flood, so we will start a strategy. Later, maybe leptospirosis will start to appear, diarrhea. We will come and organize a strategy so that the regional government will be

by the central government,” said Benjamin at the Kepatihan Complex, Yogyakarta City, DIY, Saturday (29/11).
The assistance provided by the central government to the area includes stocks of medicines as well as emergency hospital facilities as well as health posts which have been established several days ago.
Meanwhile, for medical personnel, according to Benjamin, based on the results of coordination with health services in the regions, it was decided that so far no additional personnel were needed.

As of Friday (28/11) evening, the Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Lt. Gen. TNI Suharyanto reported that 174 people had died, 79 people were missing, and 12 others were injured.
President Prabowo Subianto said the government would not remain silent in responding to the natural disasters that occurred recently.
He said the government continues to send aid to affected areas.Prabowo also hopes that all these problems can be resolved soon.
