“There are already proposals starting to be made. Slowly, suggestions have been made from the public, God willing, they will be processed,” said Gus Ipul at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Monday (10/11).

Currently, there are three previous Indonesian presidents who have received the title of national hero.The first is the 1st President of the Republic of Indonesia, Sukarno, who became a National Hero in 2012.And this Monday, the second President of the Republic of Indonesia, Soeharto and the fourth President of the Republic of Indonesia, Abdurrahman Wahid alias Gus Dur, were appointed National Heroes.
The suggestion that all Indonesian Presidents receive the title of national hero has emerged recently.
One of them emerged from Golkar General Chair Bahlil Lahadalia.He said that all previous presidents had great services for Indonesia.
“If necessary, we recommend that all national figures who are former presidents be considered to be given the title of national hero,” said Bahlil at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Thursday (6/11).
