The government has canceled announcing the Provincial Minimum Wage formula
(UMP) 2026
tomorrow, Friday (21/11), as mandated by Government Regulation (PP) Number 36 2021 concerning Wages.
Yassierli said that his party is currently preparing new regulations regarding wage formulas so that there is no need to follow long announcement deadlines.
“Regarding the date, if this is a PP, that means we are not bound by the date in PP 36 (PP 36/2021). So there is no bound by the date of November 21,” he said at a press conference at his office, Thursday (20/11).

According to him, the wage scheme will be in the form of a range number determined differently for each province. The reason is, the government wants to overcome the large wage inequality between regions in Indonesia.
“We are currently developing a concept that the wage increase is not a single figure. But what it will look like, I’m sorry, this is still in process. So it’s not in a single figure, because if it’s a single figure it means the disparity will still occur,” he explained.
The government will laterĀ give regional heads the authority to determine their own UMP, but still taking into account the economic growth of each region.
“So we are aware that there are provinces or cities, districts that have high economic growth, please go ahead. They can be higher compared to provinces, cities, districts where economic growth is not high,” he explained.
This is different from previous years where the UMP was announced directly by the president and ministers.Next year’s UMP will be handed over directly to regional heads.
“This is also in accordance with the mandate of the Constitutional Court (MK) to give authority to the Provincial Wage Council to review, the City/Regency Wage Council to review, submit to the Governor and of course be determined by the Governor,” he concluded.
