received the Figure Driving Regional Economic Growth and Stability award from detikcom.
The award is given based on an assessment of the Minister of Home Affairs’ consistency in developing and encouraging regional governments (Pemda) to maintain economic growth and stability.
This assessment is reflected in a number of achievements, including stable inflation at around 2 percent, as well as the implementation of weekly inflation monitoring based on Central Statistics Agency (BPS) data down to the district/city level.

Apart from that, the Minister of Home Affairs is considered to play an active role in ensuring that the management of the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) runs optimally, regional income increases without burdening the community, and the ease of doing business ecosystem improves through faster and more efficient licensing.
In his speech, the Minister of Home Affairs explained the various steps taken by the Ministry of Home Affairs to handle controlling inflation and economic growth simultaneously.He explained that the Ministry of Home Affairs has carried out a number of initiatives, one of which is through holding inflation control coordination meetings (Rakor) which have been regularly held since September 2022.
Apart from controlling inflation, the Ministry of Home Affairs also monitors developments in regional economic growth periodically.Through regular meetings, the Minister of Home Affairs and his staff review the data submitted by BPS to see economic trends in each region.
“We ask for high economic growth to be maintained, for low ones we encourage it through the role of friends from other ministries/institutions and also regions,” said Tito in his release.
To maintain economic turnover in the regions, the Ministry of Home Affairs also evaluates APBD income and expenditure every month.According to the Minister of Home Affairs, high regional income should ideally be accompanied by high expenditure realization, so that the circulation of money can take place optimally in society.
In this way, purchasing power is maintained and private economic activity also increases.
