emphasizes the importance of accelerating the digitalization of social assistance so that its distribution is more targeted, effective and efficient.
He said that digitizing social assistance is the government’s strategic agenda to ensure that vulnerable groups and underprivileged people receive their rights appropriately.
“We know that social problems, social assistance, are one of the duties of the state, and our constitution also regulates the protection of poor people, neglected people, etc.,” he said at the Socialization of Piloting the Digitalization of Social Assistance at the National Level which took place on a hybrid basis at the Head Office of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri), Jakarta, Thursday (4/12).

The Minister of Home Affairs explained that Law (UU) Number 23 of 2014 concerning Regional Government regulates social affairs as one of six mandatory basic service matters which must be a priority for regional heads.
So far, the central government and regional governments (Pemda) have distributed various social assistance programs.
However, said the Minister of Home Affairs, this distribution still faces a number of obstacles, ranging from inaccurate targets to the dynamics of recipient data.
He gave the example of cases of aid recipients who had changed addresses, changed economic status, or died but were still registered as recipients.
For this reason, continued the Minister of Home Affairs, President Prabowo Subianto assigned the Chairman of the National Economic Council Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan to accelerate the digitization of social assistance.
One of the important moments is the launch of a pilot project for digitizing social assistance in Banyuwangi Regency.The program, which involves various ministries and institutions, including the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) of the Ministry of Home Affairs, is considered successful.
