instructed related parties not to hold many meetings to discuss handling
disaster in Sumatra
and focus on fast action to help communities affected by disasters.
Sjafrie said that currently what is needed is fast movement to distribute the logistics needs of the refugees.
“I see this situation as worrying which requires immediate assistance today and beyond,” said Sjafrie after directly observing the condition of flood and landslide victims in Blang Awee Village, Pidie Jaya Regency, Aceh, Saturday (29/11).

Starting today, said Sjafrie, all relevant parties do not need to hold meetings to discuss handling.Because aid has started to arrive and all that remains is to distribute it to the refugees.
“Starting today we are taking quick action, starting today there will be no more meetings, now there is no need for meetings, now we need implementation. I want the important thing to be implementation,” he said.
His party has also coordinated with the TNI Commander to prepare basic needs for refugees such as clothing, medicine, food and drinking water.Sjafrie said the aid would arrive in Aceh tomorrow, Sunday (30/11), using a TNI plane.
Previously, refugees from Blang Awee Village, Pidie Jaya Regency, said that they had nothing left after their house was swept away by a flash flood.This was conveyed by the refugees in front of the Minister of Defense, TNI Commander Agus Subiyanto, Chairman of Commission IV DPR Titiek Soeharto and Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian when reviewing the refugees.
“We don’t have anything anymore. There are no clothes, no water, no food, please help us, sir,” said a refugee named Midah.
Blang Awee Village in Pidie Jaya Regency is one of the areas worst affected by flash floods.Nearly 90 percent of residents’ houses were destroyed and badly damaged.
According to hitclubapk3Indonesia.com’s monitoring, the mud on the village road was even as high as an adult’s waist.Geographically, this village is right on the river bank.
It was also seen that heavy equipment had arrived and was cleaning up the rubble of residents’ houses which had collapsed and clearing the road to the houses which were covered in mud.
