At the end of September 2025, the 79-year-old woman’s health was in the spotlight after she canceled her residency concert in Las Vegas on doctor’s recommendation.

The news of the postponement of the concert due to health conditions became increasingly in the spotlight after in early October 2025, the family asked for prayers from fans for Dolly Parton and caused speculation that the musician was in critical condition to spread online.
Not long after that, Dolly Parton appeared and denied various speculations circulating about her health condition.
In an impromptu upload on Instagram on Thursday (9/10), Dolly showed herself filming a photo shoot and explained her health condition.The post had the caption: “I’m not dead”.
“Lately everyone thinks I’m sicker than I actually am. Do I look sick to you guys? I’m working hard here!”he said in the video.
“By the way, I want to reassure everyone, those of you who seem very worried, which I appreciate,” he continued.
“Nothing major, but I did have to cancel some things so I could be closer to home, closer to Vanderbilt [University Medical Center], where I had some treatment here and there, but I want you to know that I’m not dead.”
“There are a lot of rumors circulating, but I think if you heard it directly from me, you would know that I’m fine,” said Dolly Parton, referring to the viral photo of AI showing herself dying.
“So, that’s what I want to say and I’m not ready to die. I guess God isn’t done with me and I’m not done working. So I love you for caring, and keep praying for me.”
