Pacitan Police Chief AKBP Ayub Diponegoro said Mbah Tarman spent IDR 30 million to give wedding guests IDR 100 thousand each.
“From the start it was known that the person concerned was using a four-wheeled vehicle, an Avanza Veloz, which was then pawned to one of the neighbors near the woman’s family’s house,” said Ayub, Friday (12/12) as reported by

“Mbah Tarman received Rp. 50 million. The Rp. 30 million was distributed, (each) Rp. 100 thousand to residents who were attending the reception,” said Ayub.
This is what makes Shela and her family believe that Mbah Tarman is really a rich person and that the Rp. 3 billion check for the dowry can be cashed in the future.
“Even though up to now it is clear that it cannot be disbursed and is fake,” said Ayub.
The family found out that the money for the guests came from pawning the rental car when the rental owner arrived two days after the wedding.
The rental owner from Ponorogo was looking for Mbah Tarman because the Avanza Velos car he had rented had not been returned.The rental owner chose not to report to the police, the important thing is that the car is returned.
Meanwhile, for the Rp. 50 million mortgage from neighbors, Shela’s family had to bear it.Having no cash, the family finally had to give up the certificate as collateral.
“So after the car was taken by the rental owner, of course the person giving the mortgage amounting to Rp. 50 million did not receive it. Then the bride’s family was again responsible for providing collateral for the land certificate,” said Ayub.
Mbah Tarman himself did not deny what the police said.He admitted that everything was done so that Shela would marry him.
“So that my wife will. That’s it, that’s all,” said Tarman in response to Ayub’s question.
Mbah Tarman also admitted that he did not have that much money.”It doesn’t exist,” said Tarman.
Even though Mbah Tarman had cheated on him several times, Shela’s family was reluctant to take legal action regarding the alleged fraud.The reason is that the wedding has already been held.
