U-23 Indonesian National Team
in the 2025 SEA Games.
The 2025 SEA Games will take place in Thailand from 9 to 20 December.The men’s soccer sport will start first from December 3 to 18.
Mauro Zijlstra is one of the players called by coach Indra Sjafri to strengthen Garuda Muda for the SEA Games.

Even so, the 21 year old player has not yet fully received the green light from Volendam.Zijlstra is still waiting for the Eredivisie club’s blessing.
“So I told Volendam that I wanted to play in this tournament and now I’m waiting for their answer,” said Zijlstra.
Zijlstra, who already has three caps with the senior Indonesian national team, is confident he can play in the SEA Games.As the defending champion, Indonesia is targeted to retain the gold medal for the biggest multi-event in Southeast Asia.
“I think I can play in the SEA Games,” said this player born in Zaandam, Netherlands.
On that occasion, Mauro Zijlstra revealed his reasons for wanting to play for the U-23 Indonesian National Team at the 2025 SEA Games.
“I haven’t played much here,” said Zijlstra.
After officially becoming an Indonesian citizen (WNI) after taking the oath at the end of August, Zijlstra played in two FIFA Matchday matches in September.
The Indonesian national team coach at that time, Patrick Kluivert, then played Zijstra in one of the two matches in the fourth round of the 2026 World Cup Qualification against Iraq.
