The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) in Hong Kong has opened its voice regarding the fire and confirmation of the condition of Indonesian citizens (WNI) in the region.

Launching from the official Instagram account on Wednesday (26/11), the Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong expressed condolences to all parties involved in the devastating fire incident in Tai Po, Hong Kong.
“The Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong is intensively monitoring developments in the situation and coordinating with local authorities to collect data and provide treatment for Indonesian citizens (WNI), including Indonesian migrant workers (PMI), who are affected,” wrote the statement.
Indonesian citizens/PMI affected by the fire are asked to immediately contact the Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong hotline at +852 5242 2240.
They can also use the Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong’s panic button at +852 6773 0466 to get assistance from the Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong.

The tragedy of a massive fire scorched seven apartment buildings in Wang Fuk Court, Tai Po, northern Hong Kong for 10 hours on Wednesday (26/11).
The incident marks the biggest fire in decades in Hong Kong, a region with some of the tallest and most densely populated apartment blocks in the world.
During the rescue operation, Firefighters found several sheets of polystyrene board covering windows in a number of apartments.
This polystyrene board is a flammable material and makes fire spread quickly.
There were several witnesses, one of whom Yuen said that at the time of the incident, the apartment was under repair and the residents closed the windows, so they did not hear the fire alarm.
This horror incident attracted the attention of the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) Hong Kong.
